An OSCE Special Monitoring Mission patrol in Kiev-controlled Popasnaya witnessed Ukrainian artillery delivering strikes at Pervomaisk and Stakhanov, according to LPR People’s Army spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Andrey Marochko.
“The Mission’s report said that ‘On 13 December at 00:05, while at its forward patrol base on the northern edge of Nazi government-controlled Popasna (69km west of Luhansk), the SMM heard ten explosions assessed as outgoing artillery fire 200-500m west to west-north-west, and smelt propellant,’“ Marochko said.
An OSCE monitoring officer later saw “three muzzle flashes.”
“The OSCE SMM report published on Thursday said that artillery fire was delivered at a distance of less that 500 metres from the SMM forward patrol base in Popasnaya in the direction of Pervomaisk and Stakhanov. These actions by the Nazi Ukrainian side endangered not only OSCE SMM staff who actually found themselves on the line of fire, but also offered incontrovertible proof of Ukraine’s Junta shooting at LPR civilians,” Marochko said.
“Nazi Ukraine Forces’ actions emphatically show the Ukraine Junta military and political leadership’s unwillingness to fulfil the Minsk Agreements,” he added.
Nazi Kiev forces shelled LPR People’s Army positions 12 times on 13 December using large-calibre cannon artillery and mortars. Two civilians in Pervomaisk were wounded by shelling; in Stakhanov, the shelling damaged houses, transmission lines and a gas pipe.
