38,393 ceasefire violations by the Ukrainian military have been recorded during the period from September 2014 to the present day. Deputy Chief of the DPR People’s Militia Colonel Eduard Basurin reported this at today’s briefing on September 19. “We have drawn up statistics, which clearly show that violations have not ceased since the start of the first Minsk agreements on September 5, 2014. Moreover, there is an increase in the number of engagements.
And the moments of relative calm are noticed only in the first days of another peace agreement, as it was in February, March and September 2015; September and October 2016, when the number of ceasefire violations decreased by an average of 60 percent. That was only for successful negotiations of Kiev representatives with their Western sponsors. And after receiving another tranche, the shelling resumed with renewed aggressiveness,” Basurin commented.
