The LPR will keep its internal and foreign policy unchanged, and is committed to the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, said the LPR acting head Leonid Pasechnik.

Pasechnik: LPR committed to Minsk Agreements and pursues union with Russia

 "We are sticking to the course we had for all these years. First of all it is the course towards a union with the Russian Federation, commitment to the Minsk Agreements, economical and political development of the Republic, security and safety for our residents," he said.

The LPR People's Council has endorsed Leonid Pasechnik for the position of acting head of the Republic and confirmed the ex-leader Igor Plotnitskiy resignation earlier on Saturday.

The LPR acting head Leonid Pasechnik has assigned acting foreign minister Vladislav Deinego with representing the Republic's interests at the Minsk talks.

Pasechnik confirms Deinego's assignment to represent LPR in Minsk

"The first task for you will be to represent the Republic's interests at the Minsk talks to settle the conflict in Donbass and to avoid bloodshed in our territories," Pasechnik said.

"Thank you for your trust," Deinego replied.

Earlier on Saturday the LPR People's Council has accepted the ex-leader Igor Plotnitskiy resignation due to health issues and appointed Leonid Pasechnik for the position of acting head of the Republic.
