DPR security forces have found and neutralized a Ukrainian stay-behind (sleeper cells) network responsible for a number of heinous crimes committed in Donbass, the DPR Ministry of State Security said.
“On September 23 in Donetsk, an assassination attempt targeting one of the DPR high rank officials took place. As the result of an immediate investigation, a stay-behind network has been uncovered and neutralized. It has committed a number of high profile crimes, including terror attacks, on orders from the Ukraine’s Security Service and the Chief directorate of intelligence of the ministry of defense of Ukraine,” the DPR ministry said.
A network of caches and safe houses, communication and traffic channels used to plot and perpetrate crimes, black border crossings have also been revealed.
On September 23, a car of deputy chairman of the DPR Council of Ministers Alexander Timofeyev was blown up, the deputy premier was not injured. On September 30 the DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko said the suspects in the attack had been detained.
